Headline: Bound Brook’s Youngest Learners Shine

Our students at Lamonte/Lamonte Annex Elementary School are always eager to celebrate the holidays and show off their creativity.

Principal Hipolita Hernandez-Sicignano said the start of the school year brought various opportunities for students to shine.

During Week of Respect in October, students dressed up for theme days, such as wearing bright colors or peace signs to say “peace out bullying” and wearing Bound Brook gear to stand up against bullying. Another day was Superhero Day. We discussed the importance of respect and how to practice it.

In addition, the Bound Brook Fire Department visited us, and the children had a blast seeing the firetrucks.

Later that month, we had our Halloween Parade, with students looping around the building outside. Parents were invited, and the students’ costumes were so creative!

And, during music class, students have been learning about Kwanzaa and the djembe, a type of hand drum.
